About Esprit

At the beginning the vision of a positive attitude to life: Esprit was founded in 1968 in California by the married couple Susie and Doug Tompkins. Inspired by the revolutionary spirit of the 60s, the brand developed a clear philosophy – to celebrate authentic people and true community, in the sense of the brand promise: "Feel good, look good".

The company's "Esprit de Corps" is characterised by a positive and appreciative attitude towards life, which play an important role in community, family and friends – in the casual-cool Californian style. Spatial profiling of gastric cancer metastases reveals principles of tumour dissemination

To cite: Sundar R, Liu DH, Hutchins GG, et al. Gut 2021;70:1823-1832.

Read the full article here: link
Objective: Endoscopic mucosal biopsies of primary gastric cancers (GCs) are used to guide diagnosis, biomarker testing and treatment. Spatial intratumoural heterogeneity (ITH) may influence biopsy-derived information. We aimed to study ITH of primary GCs and matched lymph node metastasis.

Conclusions: In GC, regional lymph node metastases are likely to originate from deeper subregions of the primary tumour. Future clinical trials of novel targeted therapies must consider assessment of deeper subregions of the primary tumour and/or metastases as several therapeutically relevant genes are only mutated, overexpressed or amplified in these regions.
